Remote Same Day Surgery Medical Coder

Job Summary

A healthcare company is searching for a person to fill their position for a Remote Same Day Surgery Medical Coder.

Must be able to:

• Review medical records to identify diagnoses and procedures relative to the patient's health care encounter
• Select the correct diagnoses, procedures, and CPT and/or charge codes that are applicable to the patient’s care
• Apply charge codes for injections and infusions that occur in the observation setting

Position Requirements Include:

• CCS, CPC, RHIA or RHIT
• Skills in acute care same day surgery, observation accounts of all kinds
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Must have minimum of 1 year of related coding experience
• Understands medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, surgical technology, pharmacology and disease processes
• Extensive knowledge of ICD-10 CM/PCS and CPT/HCPCS coding principles and guidelines
