State Licensed Coding Educator
Job Summary
A company is looking for a Coding Specialist Educator.
Key Responsibilities
- Guide the orientation and ongoing education of healthcare professionals in coding and documentation processes
- Conduct and analyze periodic audits to ensure accuracy in coding practices and provide reeducation as necessary
- Serve as a knowledge resource for coding systems, regulations, and third-party reimbursement requirements
Required Qualifications, Training, and Education
- High School Diploma or GED with completion of college-level coding courses in IDC, CPT4, and HCPCS
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in coding required
- AHIMA (CCS, CCS-P, RHIT or RHIA) or AAPC Coding Credential required upon hire
- Successful completion of a medical terminology course preferred
- Previous experience with EPIC and knowledge of insurance billing preferred
