Job Summary

A company is looking for a Hospital Inpatient Coder.

Key Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-9 and/or ICD-10 codes for inpatient encounters with high accuracy
• Collaborate with the Coding Manager to identify key documentation for quality and reimbursement
• Ensure accuracy of DRGs and data extraction into the HIMs abstracting system

Required Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred
• 2 years of outpatient coding experience, including ambulatory surgery and emergency department coding
• Minimum use of clinical coding books required
• CPC, CPC-H, CCA, RHIA, RHIT, CCS, or CCS-P certification
