Certified Inpatient Coder

Job Summary

A company is looking for an Inpatient Coder II.

Key Responsibilities

• Assigns ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes, ensuring accurate DRG assignments and compliance with coding guidelines
• Communicates with the Clinical Documentation Improvement team to resolve discrepancies and validate clinical documentation
• Maintains coding turnaround times while collaborating with other departments to meet monthly goals

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (Required)
• Program Graduate in Health Information Management Services (HIMS) or related field (Preferred)
• 3-4 years of active inpatient coding experience in acute care (Required)
• Certification as a CCS, CCA, RHIA, RHIT, or CIC from recognized organizations (Required)
