Certified Inpatient Coding Specialist
Job Summary
A company is looking for an Inpatient Coding Specialist II (Remote).
Key Responsibilities
- Review medical records to assign ICD-10 diagnosis and procedure codes and determine appropriate MS-DRG or APR-DRG
- Abstract required data and monitor Discharged Not Billed accounts for timely processing
- Collaborate with Clinical Documentation Specialists and medical staff to ensure completeness of documentation
Required Qualifications, Training, and Education
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Five (5) years of progressively responsible and related work experience
- Successful completion of the Coder Proficiency Exam (pre-hire)
- Licensure as RHIA, RHIT, or CCS
- Knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS coding conventions and related compliance issues
