Remote HIMS Inpatient Facility Coder

Job Summary

A healthcare company has an open position for a Remote HIMS Inpatient Facility Coder.

Must be able to:

• Analyze medical information from medical records
• Abstract clinical diagnoses, procedure codes and document other pertinent information
• Provide quality assurance for medical records

Qualifications for this position include:

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge and specialized formal training equivalent
• Must demonstrate a level of knowledge and understanding of ICD and CPT coding principles
• Six months providing coding services within a broad range of health care facilities
• Must be able to achieve an acceptable accuracy rate on the coding test administered by the hiring facility
• Must be able to work effectively with common office software and coding software and abstracting systems
