Job Summary
An integrated health system needs applicants for an opening for a Remote Hospital Coding Specialist II.
Core Responsibilities of this position include:
- Reviewing clinical documentation and diagnostic results
- Extracting data and applying appropriate International Classification of Diseases
- Accurately coding outpatient conditions and procedures
Skills and Requirements Include:
- Two years coding and reimbursement experience in a multi-specialty setting clinic/hospital
- Or completion of coding degree or diploma
- Knowledge of accepted medical abbreviations and their meanings
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, pharmacology, and surgical procedures
- Must have extensive knowledge of Coding Clinic, CPT Assistant and all official coding guidelines
- Knowledge in the use of specialized references such as the ICD and CPT-4 books
