Senior Database Engineer
Job Summary
A company is looking for a Senior Database Engineer to manage database design, development, maintenance, and support for internal and external customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and manage databases, including backup, recovery, performance monitoring, and security management
- Develop and engineer databases, focusing on design, performance tuning, ETL processes, and release management
- Provide 24/7 monitoring and support for database issues, while evaluating and recommending new database tools and technologies
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline, or equivalent experience
- 5-8 years of experience in Database Administration with in-depth knowledge of one RDBMS platform
- Experience with hybrid and public cloud concepts and high availability environments
- Hands-on experience with operating systems such as Solaris, UNIX, Linux, or Windows
- Strong ANSI SQL development skills and familiarity with higher-level programming languages is a plus
