Organization is key while searching and applying for any type of job, including telecommute positions.  Virtual Vocations’ system makes it easy for you to save jobs, mark when you’ve applied for them and to write notes for each position, giving yourself details of where you are with the application process.

Virtual Vocations provides three key organization tools:

Save jobs while searching.

Mark jobs as applied for.

Make notes for application process.

Use these tools to maximize your time and effectiveness during job research.


1buttonSave jobs while you browse on Virtual Vocations.

The save job button is located at the bottom left of each position. Scroll down to the bottom of the job view and save the job. You must be logged in.

You can save jobs from two different places when you are logged into your Virtual Vocations account.

From the individual job page, at the bottom of each job listing located next to the Apply button is a Save this Job button.

*Note-When you click the ‘Save this Job’ button, it automatically changes to ‘Remove this Job’.

From the job search results page, a small grey box displays beneath each job preview with the option to Save Job.

You can manage your saved jobs by scrolling to the bottom of the individual job descriptions and removing them as saved, or by deleting them from the area in your account: Profile>Saved Jobs.


2buttonWhen you apply for a job, mark the ‘Applied’ button to save it to your Job History.

A popup will automatically appear on the job page after you have clicked the ‘Apply’ button, allowing you to mark the job.

Using the Applied for Job tool:

Each time you click the ‘Apply’ button for a job posting, you will be presented with the following three options:

Applied for Job

If you applied for the job on either the employer site or Virtual Vocations, click this button to include the job in your job history, which can be accessed and managed at Profile>Job History.

Did Not Apply

If you did not apply, please click this button as it helps us internally to keep track of which types of telecommute jobs are most valuable to our members.

Report Job

This button is a user-reporting feature.  If you find a job that is expired or you don’t feel meets the standards for telecommuting, or even seems like it could be a scam, report it and a member of our team will check it out quickly.


3buttonMake notes to help keep yourself organized during the application process and follow-up.

You will most likely come across many different jobs of interest during your search for a telecommuting job on Virtual Vocations.  Saving those jobs for easy applying is a great way to stay organized. When you save a job, you can also immediately make a note for that job.

Making notes during your job search:

To make a note, simply scroll down to the bottom of a job description, SAVE THE JOB, then you will see the ‘make a note’ option appear. Click on the button to activate the text drop down.

You can also make a note from within your saved jobs area. When logged into your Virtual Vocations account, you can manage and create more notes by clicking on Profile>Saved Jobs.

Use these organization tools to save jobs you want to further explore or apply for.  You can also easily remove a saved job by clicking on the ‘Remove Job’ button that will display where the ‘Save Job’ button was at the bottom of any job you have saved.
