2018 top remote companies for women

Though women are still underrepresented in certain professional environments, companies are becoming more cognizant of gender equality in the workplace. We’ve identified the 2018 Top 20 Remote Companies for Women. These telecommute-friendly employers value women in the workplace and intentionally support the advancement of their female employees.

2018 Top 20 Remote Companies for Women

Women account for over 40% of the global workforce, yet they hold less than 25% of executive roles worldwide. Though not all women desire senior positions, there remains a disproportionate representation of women in certain occupations and industries, according to Women in the Workplace 2017—a study conducted by LeanIn.Org and McKinsey & Company. However, companies increasingly recognize the value that women bring to the workplace and seek guidance on how to create environments and opportunities that attract more female employees.

Aiding this mission, a recent study by the Center for Creative Leadership (CCL) and Watermark found that the top three things women want in their professional lives are:

  • Flexibility
  • Leadership opportunities
  • Meaningful work

This a reasonable career bucket list that applies to men and women alike, but only some companies truly understand what it all means from the perspective of the female worker.

To identify such companies, Forbes and Statista partnered up to survey 40,000 Americans—25,000 women and 15,000 men—who work for businesses with at least 1,000 employees. They asked survey respondents about working conditions, diversity, pay equity, and discrimination. Respondents also confessed how likely they’d be to recommend their employer to other workers.

Forbes and Statista compiled the results and created the first list of America’s Best Employers for Women.
