Acute Inpatient Complex Coder

Job Summary

A company is looking for an Acute Inpatient Complex Coder.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and analyze medical records to assign ICD 10 CM diagnoses and ICD 10 PCS procedures
• Ensure accurate coding in accordance with coding guidelines and regulatory requirements
• Provide coding quality assurance for medical records and address complex matters independently

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge
• Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or other appropriate coding certification
• Three or more years of inpatient coding experience in Acute Care inpatient facility or healthcare system
• Knowledge and understanding of ICD CM and PCS coding principles
• Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a remote setting
