Companies to Watch for Fully Remote Jobs in 2024 Report Overview
To create our list of the “Top 100 Companies to Watch for Fully Remote Jobs in 2024,” we analyzed our annual remote jobs database statistics from January 1–December 31, 2023. This process determined from which companies Virtual Vocations sourced the most remote job openings across the 12-month period. Our examination of annual company statistics included key data and trends like the following:
- The Virtual Vocations team and its Employer Partner Program members shared 213,515 vetted remote job postings to the Virtual Vocations Fully Remote Jobs Database during 2023.
- Fully remote job postings added to the job board were sourced from more than 10,000 unique employers.
- More than 54,000 fully remote job openings (25.47%) were sourced from the top 100 companies.
- 21 total remote-friendly career industries are represented among the top 100 companies to watch for fully remote jobs this year.
- The best industries for remote jobs are information technology, accounting and financial, and healthcare and pharmaceutical.
- 95 of the top 100 companies are based in the U.S. California, Virginia, Missouri, Ohio, and New York rank as the states with the most top 100 companies headquarters locations.

Information technology, accounting and financial, and healthcare and pharmaceutical represent the best remote work industries among the top 100 companies to watch in 2024. More than half of the top 100 companies (56%) operate within these industries. For our industry analysis within the 100 best companies ranking, we included data from the U.S. Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). The BLS findings overview occupational performance outlooks for the top three remote career fields.
Information Technology Companies with Fully Remote Jobs
“Overall employment in computer and information technology occupations is projected to grow much faster than the average for all occupations from 2022 to 2032,” according to the BLS. The rapid occupational growth predicted for IT positions over the 10-year period will equal an average of approximately 377,500 new openings each year. Information technology professionals can also expect to earn high wages for their work. As of May 2022, the BLS documented the median annual wage for IT workers as $100,530. Meanwhile, the median annual wage for all U.S. occupations is $46,310.

Accounting and financial roles are a large umbrella covering business money matters. These careers include jobs for accountants and auditors, budget analysts, cost estimators, financial analysts, fundraisers, loan officers and underwriters, personal financial advisors, purchasing managers, tax examiners, revenue agents, and more. The BLS predicts 911,400 new financial roles will be available each year from 2022 to 2032. Earnings for this group, as of May 2022, are higher than the median annual wage. Accounting and financial professionals bring home a median annual salary of $76,850 in the U.S.

Healthcare and Pharmaceutical Companies with Fully Remote Jobs
Healthcare occupations are also predicted to grow much faster than the average for all occupations. Each year, from 2022 through 2023, the BLS projects an average of 1.8 million openings will be added to the market. Like IT occupations, healthcare practitioners and technical specialists can expect to earn wages higher than the annual median in the U.S. Those jobs, which include roles for physicians and registered nurses, are expected to bring in a median annual salary of $77,760 per year, as of May 2022. Wages are much lower, however, for healthcare support roles. Medical transcriptionists, home health and personal care aides, and occupational therapy assistants will only earn a median average salary of $33,600, which is lower than the median annual U.S. wage for all occupations.
Pharmaceutical positions, including roles for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, are expected to grow an average of 4.5% from 2022 through 2032, which is about as fast as average for all occupations. On the earnings front, pharmaceutical workers are projected to earn a median annual average of $85,270, but there is a wide wage gap between earnings for pharmacists versus pharmacy technicians. The highest 10% of wages for pharmacy technicians was $50,640 in May 2022, but the lowest 10% of pharmacist wages came in at $79,950.
