Summary of Findings

  • Throughout the quarter, the Virtual Vocations Remote Jobs Database hosted fully remote job postings from 6,100 unique companies.
  • The number of job postings from these remote-enabled businesses and organizations totaled more than 54,000 for the first quarter of 2023.
  • Total remote job postings increased 3.31% from Q4 2022.

CEO’s Statement on the Q1 2023 State of Remote Work

With 87% of workers planning to look for a new job in 2023, having access to quality hiring information is critical. Our first quarterly fully remote jobs report for 2023 is an excellent resource for jobseekers to streamline their searches.

Hiring for fully remote jobs was up more than 3% during the first quarter of the year compared to Q4 2022. An average of 18,000 new fully remote jobs were added to our job board each month for January, February, and March. An increase in fully remote hiring is a boon for professionals with a gap in employment or for workers anxious about the possibility of experiencing a layoff at some point this year.
